Carvin Serial Number Decoder

Helloooo forum, Sorry to create another amp thread, but I didn't want to step on anybody's feet in the other threads. In any case, in light of having a 4003 on the way I've wanted to upgrade my G-K Backline setup. I keep looking at all of the options (G-K, Ampeg, Ashdown, Hartke, etc.) but I keep coming back to Carvin. I have yet to read a bad review and their prices are too good to be true!

Perang VIN Codes Decodes engine codes used in Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN's) for cars starting around 1953. Museums Listing of automobile museums, as well as museums with some automotive related items. A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) can give you a wealth of information about your classic car if you are familiar with manufacturer names and model numbers. For example, a VIN beginning with YM23J63 indicates that your car is a 1966 Chrysler Imperial Crown, LeBaron, medium class, two-door hardtop with a B8 engine.

I was looking at this setup: BX600 600W amp BR118 1x18 cab BR210 2x10 cab So, I just want to know what the owners think. What other equipment have you played and what about Carvin convinced you it was the best for your RIC bass? Many thanks, Dan. I played the exact setup you're describing (except with a 4 X 10 cab, as they didn't have a 2 X 10 in stock) at the Carvin store in Hollywood last month.

It was the best bass sound I have heard yet for my 4001. It was plentifully loud with lots well-defined, punchy bottom (obviously, from an 18') and loads of tight top end. It got a little warm and fuzzy (but not sloppy) when I played double stops and went exploring above the 9th fret. Several employees and customers came over to check out my Rick and marvel at the killer tone, which was easy to get. I'm sure with tweak time, it would be utterly awesome. For the price, it will be hard to beat.

I'm looking at buying either this setup or a similar rig with a G-K head and Hartke cabs. Danieljw, welcome to the forum I play through a Carvin RL1000 with a 4x10 and a 1x18. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Here's a couple shots of it. I have some Carvin guitars as well.

I got turned on to Carvin by a local guitarist, who is a friend of my Dad's, and have not been disappointed with any of their products. Made, loud as hell, very versatile tone. The BX600 set up your considering will not disappoint you. You could jump ahead a step or two, and go for the BX1200 dual mono block (bi-ampable) head with the new BR410 and the BR118, and never worry about another bass amp. I've been playing my 4003 through an old (well, it didn't used to be old!) Carvin PB-500 head for just about 15 years now. Back when I was younger, I used to use the Bi-Amp feature much more than I do now.
